The vice president, Geraldo Alckmin, and Senator Mara Gabrilli (PSD) discussed in a meeting on Wednesday (9) how to strengthen the offer of assistive technology, aimed at people with disabilities, to patients of the SUS (Unified Health System) .
The senator, who is quadriplegic, pointed out the importance of strengthening the national industry for the production of orthoses and prostheses, as well as medicines.
She cited the example of insulin, which has already experienced the risk of shortages and needed an emergency purchase abroad with drugs without Anvisa approval.
Alckmin and Gabrilli have had a good relationship since they were toucans. The vice president is currently affiliated with the PSB.
