Members of the Foreign Affairs Committee (CRE) from the Legislative Assembly of Amapá, met on Thursday (11), with the superintendent of Infraero, Clayrton Silva and Gustavo Defilippo, from DNIT, where they discussed the BR-156 and AP-210 highways, important for the integration of Franco -Amapaense and potential route for the flow of production to other regions of Brazil and abroad, in addition to the implementation of an airline to the municipality of Oiapoque, one of the main charges made to the commission.

During the meeting, which took place in the mini-plenum II Rita Ramos, in the administrative annex deputy Jarbas Gato, the members of CRE, deputies Jory Oeiras (PP), Delegado Inácio (PDT) It is Diogo Senior (MDB), under the chairmanship of the deputy Edna Auzier (PSD), questioned the DNIT about the execution of the paving work on the BRs, mainly the BR-156 that connects Macapá to the municipalities of Oiapoque in the North and Laranjal do Jari, in the South of the State.

Superintendent Gustavo Defilippo explained that Amapá’s road network is made up of 1,021 km, however, less than 60% are unpaved, where the main bottleneck is the remaining 110 km of BR-156 that gives access to the municipality of Oiapoque.

According to him, the works in the South and North regions are divided into four lots, and the Brazilian Army, through a cooperation agreement, is already finalizing lot 4 in the stretch that connects to the municipality of Laranjal do Jari. “Within three years we must complete this sector”he guaranteed, informing that, to pave the entire road network in the State, about R$ 2 billion are needed.

The deputies questioned the reason for the delay in completing the total asphalting of the BR-156, considered the oldest work in Brazil. “Administrative issue. Unfortunately it happened with Amapá; there is a resource, but there is no project”, replied Gustavo Defilippo, informing that the relocation of seven indigenous villages is one of the environmental conditions for the paving service of the BR-156 North to be completed. The project under study affects the villages: Anawerá, Tukay, Samaúma, Ywawaka, Estrela, Ahumã and Kariá.

The South region also has some problems that are being solved by the engineers, who even suggested building a new highway, bypassing the city of Laranjal do Jari. “The highway was swallowed by the city, today it is a great avenue Tancredo Neves”, stressed Defilippo, but it becomes unfeasible due to the high cost and soil conditions. Completing the bridge over the Jari River is also part of the DNIT work schedule in Amapá.

The commission sought a response from Infraero on the airline that connects the municipality of Macapá to the municipality of Oiapoque.

Infraero’s superintendent, Clayrton Silva, explained that it is not up to Infraero to manage the implementation of airlines. “Today we have a domestic flight, but it is operated by a company chartered by Petrobras”, he explained, noting that Infraero is responsible for the logistics part. “The international airport of Macapá, opened in 2019 with the capacity to serve 5 million passengers per year, that is, 490 thousand passengers per month, is prepared to receive aviation”emphasized Clayrton.

In the municipality of Oiapoque, the airport is located in the rural area of the municipality, about 6 km from the center of the city that forms the border between Brazil and French Guiana. The airfield underwent renovation, adaptations and improvements required by the airport inspection bodies in order to be able to receive Omni’s ATR 42-500 model aircraft, which has been transporting workers from Petrobras, responsible for the state-owned company’s logistical and operational procedures, for about 2 months. the beginning of oil exploration on the coast of amapa. “For a domestic flight to this municipality to take place, there needs to be interest from airlines and a great political negotiation”informed.

Deputy Edna Auzier, highlighted that there is interest from the airline Azul, but it comes up against the issue of security, given that the public garbage dump in the municipality is close to the airport and the traffic of birds, mainly vultures, is high. “We are going to seek solutions with the municipality, federal and state government so that, together, we can open this space for commercial flights”concluded the parliamentarian.
