The senator Randolfe Rodrigues (no party) explained this Wednesday morning, 20th, on the program ‘LuizMeloInterview’ (Diário FM 90.9)that CEA Equatorial will apply the 44.41% adjustment to the electricity tariff in Amapá, granted by Aneel, but the population will not suffer the impact because the concessionary company distributing the product will be paid by the federal government.
The parliamentarian, who leads the government bench Squid, in the National Congress, made it clear that the high adjustment is suspended, by political initiative and judicial decision, until the entry into force of the Provisional Measure (MP) that will establish the fund of R$ 350 million to R$ 390 million to pay for the energy consumed by the people of Amapá, to the Equatorial CEA, with the population only feeling an increase of 5% to 8% in their pockets.
Randolfe guaranteed that the MP is in the process of being published, without the need to go through the National Congress, as it contains resources to cover the adjustment of electricity tariffs. He informed that the fund that will neutralize the impact of the 44.41% adjustment will come from resources obtained with the privatization of Eletrobrás, to be used at the beginning of 2024.
The senator from Amapá also explained that the Provisional Measure of the financial fund is cyclical and will be valid until the entry into force of another MP, this structural one, which will modify the country’s electricity readjustment system, putting an end to the distortions that currently exist in which the The poorest pay a higher tariff, and the rich, a lower tariff. The structural Provisional Measure also informed Randolfe Rodrigues, will be published over the course of next year.
