Despite all the hype caused by artificial intelligence in recent months, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak does not see the potential of this technology with the same enthusiasm.

“People think that [a inteligência artificial] it’s like a person’s intelligence, which thinks in the same way as the brain. Forget that idea. Artificial intelligence is not like human intelligence at all”, said Wozniak this Saturday (2), during an event promoted by XP in São Paulo.

Artificial intelligence systems are trained to do searches of a multitude of data at a speed far above what humans are capable of presenting them in an organized way, but they do not have the same capacity for reasoning or even for replicating emotion. intrinsic to humans, defended the executive.

“We don’t really know how a brain works,” said the Apple co-founder.

The executive mentioned public cases of legal professionals who used information generated by the computer program in cases they were working on without making sure if it was reliable and ended up having problems when it proved to be false.
