The Advocacy General of the Union (AGU) is considering asking former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for reimbursement for expenses incurred using the Presidency of the Republic’s corporate card. The information is from the newspaper The globe.

According to the report, the federal government body is cross-referencing information on the dates of expenditures made by Bolsonaro, during the pre-campaign period and election campaign, to investigate whether there were alleged expenditures for electoral purposes.

If irregularities are found, the AGU may request compensation from the treasury with the return of funds. The initiative may also impact the PL, the former president’s party. A partial result on the survey may be presented as early as next week, according to the publication.

This week the leader of the PT in the Chamber, Deputy Reginaldo Lopes (MG), and Deputy Zeca Dirceu (PR) submitted to the Federal Audit Court (TCU) a request for an investigation against former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for allegedly use of public money in motorcycles.

Bolsonaro ended his term with a total of BRL 27.6 million spent on corporate cards. Despite being expressive, the amount did not reach the values of former presidents Lula and Dilma Rousseff, who spent R$ 62 million and R$ 43 million in their first terms, in values adjusted for inflation.
