The São Paulo Court ordered Enel, the energy concessionaire in the city of São Paulo, to share with the São Paulo City Council the GPS of the vehicles that transport its teams in emergency assistance, in the event of new weather events.

This Friday’s decision (12) came after a request from Ricardo Nunes (MDB) management. The mayor has been blamed in recent days due to flooding, blocked roads, fallen trees and thousands without power after heavy rain in the city.

The emedebista, in turn, has criticized Enel’s service provision. At an event on Wednesday (10), Nunes classified as a lie the statement by the company’s president, Max Xavier Lins, that there were 800 company trucks working on repairs in the city.

“We are collecting all the data, possibly filing today. We will ask them to show on their website where these trucks are. Max sent me a WhatsApp saying he had 800 teams [nas ruas]. Lie, it’s a lie. He’s a liar,” said the mayor.

Nunes has also stated that Enel provides few employees to disconnect the power, which would delay the city’s tree pruning and removal work.

In her decision, judge Gisela Aguiar Wanderley, from the 2nd Public Finance Court, also granted requests from municipal management for Enel to reestablish the energy supply to all affected residences and businesses and for it to report how long it took, how many teams available for service and what sizes they are.
