Accused of domestic violence, Antony is investigated by the police – 9/4/2023 – Sport

Manchester United striker Antony, 23, is being investigated by the São Paulo Civil Police. He is accused of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend, DJ and influencer Gabriela Cavallin, also 23 years old.

The report had access to photos, videos, conversations and testimonies of witnesses accompanying the investigation.

With the documents, the report got in touch with the DJ, who gave her version of the two years she lived with the player.

Last Friday (1st), she filed a second complaint against Antony, this time to the police in Manchester, England.

One of the videos from the investigation shows an injury that exposed the bones of Gabriela’s fingers, in what would have been the athlete’s last aggression.

Wanted by the report, Antony preferred not to comment on the accusations. The player’s advisory said that the case is under judicial secrecy and will be judged officially.

The CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) and coach Fernando Diniz were also asked about the decision to call up the player for the first round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. There was no response.

Antony and Gabriela met in 2021, in São Paulo, when he was playing for Ajax, in the Netherlands. She moved to Amsterdam, and in March 2022, she became pregnant. According to the DJ, the first physical assault took place when she was pregnant, on vacation in Brazil, on June 1, 2022.

According to her, the player had a jealousy crisis in a nightclub, shortly after which she was separated from him. Gabriela said that the attacker put her in the car, attacked her and threatened to throw her out of the vehicle at high speed.

“He said that if I didn’t stay with him, I wouldn’t stay with anyone. That I was pregnant with his child. Either I would stay with him or I, he and our son would die. I told him I was pregnant, that he was scaring me, making my heart race. I was shaking with fear.”

The influencer went to the hospital the next day. An Instagram post on June 2 shows Gabriela receiving an intravenous drip.

The episode is documented in the police investigation that investigates the case and includes several cell phone messages. In one of them, sent at 9:30 am the next day, Antony indicates that he intends to disappear: “No one will find me, you did this to me. I said things I shouldn’t have, and you didn’t forgive me. Take care of the baby.”

Gabriela lost the baby after about 16 weeks of pregnancy, on July 21, while still on vacation in Brazil.

“I spent my entire pregnancy in the hospital. I went three or four times a week to the hospital to take a serum, to take an exam, because I bled almost every day, until the day I lost the baby. It was a series of events, it was complicated “, he stated.

Despite this, she continued to have a relationship with Antony and, in August, she returned to Holland.

According to Gabriela, Antony was fickle and controlling. He alternated moments of affection with outbursts of aggression. Then he apologized.

In one day, in a period of less than a minute, he sent 13 messages with offenses such as “ridiculous”, “disgusting” and “destroying lives”. On another occasion, he wrote: “It was you and me. I hope you die, fuck you.”

At another time, the irritation was due to the fact that she liked pictures on social networks of four years before Neymar with his “partner” Gil Cebola. “What I don’t understand is that everything Gil Cebola posted about Neymar you liked. Even though it’s an old photo. There’s even a commented photo.”

Audios to which the report had access show Antony apologizing after episodes of irritation. In some, the player is affectionate and declares love. In others, he is aggressive, says he has already apologized and questions what he considers Gabriela’s inability to forgive him.

The second half of 2022 was calmer, with great events in Antony’s life. He transferred from Ajax to Manchester United, in England, and played in the World Cup in Qatar.

Gabriela accompanied him on his move to England, but didn’t go to the World Cup. She said she tried to take advantage of the distance caused by the World Cup to end the relationship once and for all, but she couldn’t. After the competition, they got back together.

The tournament ended for Brazil on December 9, 2022. On January 15, according to her, there was a new episode.

Gabriela claimed to have been injured by Antony with a headbutt, which caused a cut on her head.

The player would have also displaced the silicone prosthesis of the young woman with another aggression.

“I don’t remember exactly who the fight was, but it was someone I had hooked up with years ago. He punched me in the chest and my silicone turned. And then I came to Brazil to operate. I had to change the prosthesis. He said ‘I didn’t mean to hurt you, I didn’t mean to, it wasn’t a punch, I just pushed you, I just held you against the wall’.”

That day, the DJ was attended by an English doctor named Hina Tehseen in her room at the Hyatt hotel in Manchester. The conversation with the professional on the same day —she took medication to the influencer’s room— is one of the evidence of the police investigation.

The months that followed the January episode were, according to Gabriela, a growing number of attacks that ended with a serious injury, the return to Brazil and the search for protection.

A friend of the couple claimed to have witnessed Antony behaving possessively and aggressively offending Gabriela in front of several people at a party that took place the following month.

The testimony of this witness, who also claimed to have seen the athlete destroying his then-girlfriend’s cell phone on two occasions, was included in the investigation.

“I knew I had to leave, but I couldn’t. I liked him a lot. I had a lot of hope. I was very attached to the beginning of our relationship, with the things he was for me in the beginning. That last day [8 de maio de 2023], it was very serious. I was really scared that I wouldn’t be able to get out of the house,” she said.

Gabriela said that Antony tried to hit her in the face with a glass bowl. She stated that she defended herself with her hand, and the result was a finger injury exposing bone. A video of the injury was attached to the inquiry.

“Antony locked the door of the house and wouldn’t let me out, and I had my finger open, all hurt. He broke my things, took my passport. His mother and stepfather even arrested him inside the soccer field, he had a soccer field inside the living room at home, surrounded by a fence, like this, as if it were a fence. He was upset, trying to get out of the court in any way, throwing a soccer ball at me, throwing a cell phone at me. He spoke that he was going to kill me, that he was going to kill himself.”

The report had access to several conversations between Gabriela and her mother, sister and friends that took place that night. She sent pictures of the injuries and said she needed to get out of there. In another conversation, with a travel agent, Gabriela tried to hastily buy tickets back to Brazil. “Please, don’t sleep without issuing tickets. I need to get out of here before he kills me. [sic].”

As soon as she returned to the country, Gabriela went to court. “He was coming to Brazil, also on vacation, and I was very afraid that he would come after me. So I decided to go to the police station.” In June of this year, the DJ obtained protective measures that prevent Antony from approaching or trying to contact her.

“My lawyer has already had contact with the civilian from Manchester, from the CBF, and we have already obtained much faster responses from Manchester and the police in England than here in Brazil. They are helping us there with everything that we will take , all the material from the process”, said the DJ.

“Today, I feel up again, I feel like a good person, I feel like good company. Before, I didn’t feel like good company for my friends, today I feel again. I feel like a good daughter. I feel, you know? I have time for myself. I feel better really. I feel free.”
