Two accounts that spread disinformation on social networks about vaccines and non-existent measures adopted by the Lula government (PT) were removed this week after action by the National Attorney of the Union for the Defense of Democracy, an organ of the AGU (Advocacy-General of the Union).
The first case was registered on Twitter. In a video, a man who claimed to be a scientist claimed that humanity would be decimated by a new epidemic that would start when 5G signals activated pathogens supposedly inserted in vaccines.
In this case, the platform removed the profile, and not just the false content, before the Justice analyzed the AGU’s request.
On TikTok, an account posted a video saying that Lula’s decree would end private property in the country. AGU sent an extrajudicial notification to the platform asking for the removal of the content. The request has not yet been answered, but the profile has been removed from the air.
The cases were not the first in which the Prosecutor’s Office acted, which was nicknamed by Bolsonarists the Ministry of Truth. At the end of June, an extrajudicial notification made by the body resulted in the right of reply published by Jovem Pan.
At the time, the broadcaster released false information that the Ministry of Culture was spending BRL 20 million to take artists to a concert by singer Beyoncé in the United States in honor of the Paulo Gustavo Law.
