Councilor Yomara Lins took over due to Mayor David Almeida’s trip
Manaus (AM) – For the first time in the history of the Amazonian capital, a woman assumes the Prefecture of Manaus. Councilor Yomara Lins (PRTB) took over, this Friday (17), due to the trip of mayor David Almeida and vice mayor Marcos Rotta for the Carnival holiday.
According to the Organic Law of the municipality of Manaus, with the absence of the mayor, the deputy Marcos Rotta, should assume the position and, consequently, in his absence, the president of the CMM. However, both Rotta and councilor Caio André, head of the municipal legislature, also traveled on the Carnival holiday.
With the absence of councilor Caio André, Yomara, who is the first vice-president of the City Council of Manaus (CMM), took over the position.
