“Hand over your gun, the bums will thank you”, says Bolsonaro

Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) published this Monday (24) a photo in the social media in which he appears placing a banner with the phrase “hand over your gun, the bums will thank you”. The image was recorded in 2004, in Brasilia, when Bolsonaro was a federal deputy.
At the time, he was protesting the destruction of weapons collected during the disarmament campaign. During his term as President of the Republic, Bolsonaro defended the easing of the carrying and possession of weapons.
Last Friday (21), President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) signed the new arms decree. Among the changes, the government resumed the restriction of 9 mm caliber weapons and passed responsibility for gun control of Collectors, Shooters and Hunters (CACs) in Brazil to the Federal Police (PF). In these cases, control was carried out by the Army.
