The Public Prosecutor’s Office of the State of Rio Grande do Sul asked the state court to break the secrecy of data from former federal deputy Jean Wyllys and to remove his publication on Twitter in which he targets Governor Eduardo Leite (PSDB) when criticizing the toucan’s decision to maintain the civic-military school model.
The MP-RS request was filed on Friday (21) and is being processed by the 2nd Criminal Court of Porto Alegre.
On the last day of the 14th, Wyllys commented on the social network about Leite’s decision to maintain the civic-military schools in Rio Grande do Sul, saying that “gays with internalized homophobia in general develop a libido and a fetish in relation to authoritarianism and uniforms”. Leite responded by saying he was sorry for Wyllys’ ignorance.
The governor claims that Wyllys’ demonstration “offends dignity” and is homophobic, for “linking decisions that, in his judgment, are bad, to the behavior of homosexuals”.
The Prosecution’s judicial measure was filed in the midst of an open investigation against Wyllys and in which alleged crimes of injury against a public official and of “practicing, inducing or inciting discrimination or prejudice based on race, color, ethnicity, religion or national origin” are investigated.
The request is signed by the prosecutor David Medina da Silva. “It is possible to state that, despite criticism of the government being inherent to Democracy, Jean Wyllys exceeded the limits of freedom of expression, offending the dignity and decorum of the State Governor, especially considering the scope of the publication”, says an excerpt from the piece.
Wyllys’ lawyer, Lucas Mourão, informed the Sheet that there will only be a statement on the case after formal notification of the request by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The MP-RS did not release the entire piece. In the event that Justice accepts the request, the prosecutor also suggests a daily fine of R$ 100,000 in case of non-compliance.
