Filipe Luís refuses CBF’s invitation to be national team coordinator

Ednaldo Rodrigues’ favorite to be the new technical coordinator of the Brazilian team, the former full-back Filipe Luís should not assume the position. Despite saying he was “extremely honored”, he declined the invitation made by the CBF, according to information from GE. The CBF did not comment.
The player ended his career last year and has always made his intention to become a coach clear. He is even taking all the CBF Academy courses to obtain the necessary licenses to command professional teams – last year, Filipe Luís completed License B, becoming able to train youth teams.
Ednaldo would like to count on the former player because he combines two characteristics that the CBF president is looking for for the position of national team coordinator. One of them is to be a “ball boy”, with experience in the locker room and the national team. The other is the good rapport with the person chosen to be the coach of the main team, Dorival Júnior.
Filipe Luís’ refusal could hinder Ednaldo’s plans to present the team’s new technical committee in the middle of the week. The CBF has not yet confirmed any date, but the initial idea was to present Dorival Júnior and the national team coordinator on Wednesday.
The CBF has not yet made official the name of the former São Paulo coach, but Dorival Júnior has already left the São Paulo club. On Sunday, the Morumbi club published on its social networks that the coach was leaving the club to take over the Brazilian team.
