Weintraub: I wish former advisor stays clean – 11/07/2023 – Panel

Former Minister of Education in Jair Bolsonaro’s government, Abraham Weintraub says he sees no problem with the fact that his former advisor Antonio Paulo Vogel assumes the number two position in the Ministry of Sports under the Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva administration.
“Nothing else. [Vogel] He is a gazetted public servant. It’s his career. I want it to remain clean, even in a dirty government”, he told the Panel.
Vogel was Weintraub’s executive secretary during the administration of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and even moved to take over the portfolio after the then minister’s departure.
According to Weintraub, “there is no blemish” on the former subordinate’s resume. “He never did anything wrong,” he said.
