Readers of Gazeta do Povo disagree with the impeachment of Deltan Dallagnol’s (Podemos-PR) federal deputy mandate. In a poll posted on the newspaper’s website on May 17, 94% of respondents considered that the decision of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) was political. Another 6% agreed with the decision of the Electoral Court and understood that the former Lava Jato attorney is ineligible, according to the Clean Record Law. The poll received 1,394 votes.

On the last 16th, the TSE rejected the candidacy registration and annulled Dallagnol’s mandate. The decision was unanimous. The court understood that the former prosecutor, when requesting dismissal from the Federal Public Ministry, was the subject of disciplinary complaints in the National Council of the Public Ministry (CNMP) and, therefore, could be the subject of a Disciplinary Administrative Proceeding (PAD).
