Images from the palace’s closed circuit show the man at 3:54 pm in front of the machine, accessing his bank account through biometrics (thumb), withdrawing the amount of money and counting the bills twice, before putting it in his pocket.

Another vandal, 21 minutes earlier, had knocked over the clock that Dom João 6º had brought to Brazil. The relic, which is a few meters from the ATM and was already damaged, had been put back in place by other invaders. Moments later, she would be knocked to the ground a second time.

In other images, it is possible to see that at least one of the scammers tried to break the same ATM in Planalto with the aim of taking the money. After a few tries, he gave up and left.

The images from the cameras were released by the GSI (Institutional Security Office) of the Presidency after Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF (Federal Supreme Court), revoked the secrecy.

Through them, it is possible to see a sequence of security flaws, the main one being the few and disoriented staff of GSI agents who were on site and who did little to prevent the crash.
