In Enem, two candidates can get exactly the same number of questions correct, but get different grades. TRI benefits those who really prepared for the exam. In other words, it is basically a system that tries to detect “kicks”. For this reason, it is important to ensure that the simplest questions are correct. In the 2nd reading: address the questions that left only a specific doubt. Even though the TRI, as explained above, awards fewer points to the candidate who “guesses” the answers (compared to the one who has a “coherent” performance), never leave the answer sheet blank, explains João Pitoscio Filho, pedagogical coordinator of the Course Stage. “It’s better to risk a ‘blind guess’ than to leave a question unanswered,” he says. Any dot is better than nothing, right? 3- ✒️When should I clear the answers? Only at the end? The Stage coordinator recommends that candidates take the test in parts, alternating with filling out the answer sheet. “One tip is to divide it into blocks, that is, ask between 10 and 15 questions, pass the answers to the answer sheet and then ‘attack’ another block”, he says. Attention: following tip number 1, the student will not solve the test linearly. You need to be careful, then, not to forget a question and only understand it when it is time to clear the answers. On the second Sunday, there will be 5 hours of testing. To allow time to solve the 45 mathematics and 45 natural science questions, the recommendation is that the student spends, on average, 3 minutes per question. But don’t despair if it takes longer than that to finish any of them — the more difficult ones will, yes, take longer. If you realize that you have been on the same part for a long time, move on to the next one, so that you can guarantee the correct answers to the easier ones. Then, resume the challenge. “The essential thing is to have trained throughout the year to enter the race with a defined and tested strategy”, says Pitoscio Filho. And remember: wearing a watch is not allowed. Use whatever is in the classroom as a reference. 5- ✏️Can I use a pencil to draft the accounts? Where to do the calculations? No pencils, mechanical pencils, erasers or concealers — not even to do the math! It is a challenge, in fact, not being able to erase anything, especially with so little space: the candidate only has a blank sheet of paper for the draft, at the end of the question booklet. The Stage coordinator recommends that those blank pieces in the margins of the tests be used. “And it’s best to avoid doodling unnecessarily,” he says. Enem or Tinder?
