2024 already has bubblegum beer; check out other news – 01/26/2024 – Full Cup

The year is still at the beginning, but some breweries have already brought new things out of the drawer. This is the case of the curious “gum beer” Tutti Smutti 3, from Rio Grande do Sul’s Suricato Ales (in partnership with Sacramento, from Chapecó, SC). In addition to the tutti-frutti gum, the beer contains seaweed, fruit and lactose and is available in a limited edition in São Paulo.

There are also relaunches of Dádiva (with guava) and Stormy (with watermelon), as well as hoppy creations from Koala from Minas Gerais and Croma from São Paulo. Check it out below.

Pillars of Creation (Koala San Brew, @koalasanbrew)

The great brewery from Minas Gerais starts the year with a 9.8% triple IPA, loaded with hops from Oceania (Enigma and Eclipse, from Australia) and Riwaka (an exclusive variant from a New Zealand farm). To top it off, the recipe uses yeast developed for the Nova Lima brewery. The result is a very citrusy and refreshing beer, slightly cloudy, with a straw-yellow color. At EAP, it is available in cans and draft beer (R$ 35, 220 ml).

Point of View (Dádiva, @cervejariadadiva)

This is a relaunch, to the delight of those who have already taken it before. The Russian imperial stout doesn’t seem like the most suitable style for summer, but the beer is delicious. With guava and coconut, it repeats the same recipe used in 2018, when they collaborated with the Danish Amager Bryghus. With just the right amount of sweetness, notes of cocoa and 10.5% alcohol, it is a beer to enjoy calmly. Available on EAP and Tap Tap.

Tutti Smutti 3 (Meerkat, @suricatoales + Sacramento Brewing, @sacramentobrewing)

A public success from Rio Grande do Sul’s Suricato (in partnership with Santa Catarina’s Sacramento Brewing), it is a beer, let’s say, out of the box, which is now in its third batch, now in a green tone (the others were red and blue). Gum beer is a sour smoothie and, in fact, includes tutti-frutti flavored gum. Furthermore, as the brewery describes, it contains “a bunch of lactose and a truckload of unfermented fruits”, including green apples and kiwi. With 7% alcohol, the beer, in cans, is available in a few bars in São Paulo, and should run out quickly. Available on EAP and Tap Tap (for R$38).

Watermelon Mint (Stormy Brewing)

This imperial sour from the Campinas brewery is even more refreshing. This is because, in addition to watermelon and red fruits, the new edition is reinforced with mint. Despite its 7.6% alcohol content, it is highly recommended for the city’s heatwaves. In the glass, it looks like a beautiful watermelon juice (with some foam). Available at EAP in cans and taps (R$ 16, 220 ml).

Wave Pool Max (Croma Beer, @cromabeer)

The Vila Madalena brewpub started 2024 with a bang and has already presented three launches. This was the first, a juicy IPA with a punch of hops that results in a very refreshing beer, with citrus and fruity aromas. With 7.1% alcohol, it is available at the brand’s bar in cans or on tap (R$ 34, 350 ml).
