Women’s Day was seen as a moment of resumption of the flower market after a series of dates damaged by the pandemic in the sector’s seasonality.
Florists project a 15% increase in sales this year compared to March 8 last year, according to Abaf (Brazilian Academy of Floral Artists).
“The post-pandemic market managed to prepare itself. Prices stabilized. Today, production and demand are already more aligned”, says Tanus Saab, president of the entity.
Last year, on the eve of Mother’s Day, another important sales date, the sector experienced an arm wrestling match between florists and producers, when parties and events began to regain momentum lost in the pandemic, raising demand and prices.
Florist Raquel Franzini also sees the market warmer. “The movement is returning. The increase in [preço no] Last year was out of the ordinary. Now, the value is not cheap, but it is within the expected”, he says.
At Ceaflor, the average sales growth for this Women’s Day, in the annual comparison, is around 10%. According to the flower market, some producers reported a jump close to 20%.
