Women’s Cup: INSS and Revenue have special hours; see – 07/21/2023 – Market

Like banks across the country, the INSS (National Social Security Institute) and the Federal Revenue will have special operations on days when there are women’s soccer World Cup games. The tournament, which started this Thursday (20), takes place in Australia and New Zealand.

The two bodies published ordinances in the Official Gazette this Friday (21) informing the change in service. In the case of the INSS, the ordinance states that civil servants have the option of changing their working hours, as long as there is no appointment scheduled for that day.

The rule includes administrative assistance and medical expertise. Revenue will change the opening hours of its units.

In both cases, on days when the national team games take place up to 7:30 am, the units are authorized to start operating from 11 am. On days when the games are at 8 am, the office will start from noon.

How are appointments scheduled at the INSS?

According to the ordinance, the authorization is for servers and medical experts to change their working hours on game days. However, the document prohibits “changing office hours in the units where appointments are already filled, so that public servants, public employees and interns in these units must guarantee administrative, social service and medical expertise services at the scheduled times”.

Policyholders, however, can call central 135 or access My INSS to check if the appointment is guaranteed or even to change the service, looking for another day and another time, if they want to be served at another time to also follow the women’s team games.

The working hours of servers may:

• Start at 11 am, Brasília time, on days when there are national team games until 7:30 am
• Start at 12:00 pm, Brasília time, on days when the games take place at 8:00 am

How is the service at the Federal Revenue?

In the case of the Revenue, the ordinance authorizes extraordinary opening hours for the public on the days of the national team’s matches. According to the document, service to the public by the Revenue units will start, exceptionally:

• at 11:00 am, on days when the aforementioned games are played until 7:30 am
• at 12:00, on days when the games are played at 8:00

The ordinance also determines that the Revenue units must remain in operation according to normal business hours, so that the server can, if he wants, perform other activities during the period in which public service is unavailable.

Services considered essential must be maintained and the public cannot remain unresolved for demands, says the document.

In games scheduled for 8 am (Brasília time):

• In states with hours equal to Brasilia time, public service will be from 11:00 to 17:00
• In states with a difference of 1 hour in relation to Brasilia time, public service will be from 10:00 to 16:00
• In states with a difference of 2 hours in relation to Brasilia time, the agencies will be open from 9 am to 3 pm
• At branches in Fernando de Noronha (1 hour before Brasília time), service will be from 12:00 to 18:00

POST OFFICES WILL HAVE SPECIAL HOURS

Correios will also have special opening hours for the public at its units during the first phase of the selection’s games. On Monday (24), office hours at branches will start at 11 am; on Saturday (29), at 10 am; and on Wednesday (2), at 10 am.

“The flexibility of schedules occurs so that the employees of the Postal Service can follow the women’s selection, in the same way that happened in the men’s competition”, said the company, by note.

COMPANIES WILL RELEASE EMPLOYEES

Companies from different sectors are going to release employees to watch the matches of the women’s soccer team in Brazil in the World Cup. Even though it is not mandatory, according to the companies, the objective of the initiative is to promote diversity and value competition, following the model adopted in the men’s tournament.

The federal government also gave optional points to federal civil servants on game days. According to information from the Ministry of Sports, working hours begin at 11:00 am on days when the games start at 7:30 am and at noon when they start at 8:00 am. Hours not worked must be compensated by December 29th.

This only applies to federal servants — states, municipalities and mixed economy companies have the autonomy to enact or not the optional point.
