According to the agency, participation by Aurora, Cooperativa Garibaldi and Salton in international fairs is suspended “until investigations by the competent authorities are concluded”. The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) informed this Tuesday (28) that it suspended the participation of Aurora, Cooperativa Garibaldi and Salton in its activities. ApexBrasil is an autonomous social service linked to the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (Mdic), which promotes Brazilian products abroad. “ApexBrasil suspended the participation of the three companies in any initiatives supported by the agency, such as international fairs, trade missions and promotional events, until the investigations by the competent authorities are concluded”, he said in a note to g1. The three wineries are served by Apex through the sectoral project “Wines of Brazil”, a partnership between the agency and the Brazilian Union of Vitiviniculture (Uvibra). “On the morning of the 25th, ApexBrasil asked Uvibra for clarification, with a deadline of up to 48 hours for a response, regarding the internal measures already adopted by the companies, as well as the actions that will be taken to mitigate the risks of compliance and integrity in their chains of suppliers and service providers”, he highlighted. The agency also stated that it asked Uvibra for a position regarding the working conditions of grape and wine production for all companies participating in the Wines of Brazil Project. In total, the project supports 23 companies in the sector.
