Where does the tax money go? – 02/22/2023 – What tax is this
[ad_1]
The above question is one of the first to arise when the subject is the tax burden. To try to answer the question, the Sheet publishes, since 2019, a map of revenues and expenditures at the various levels of government.
The infographics below follow the same classifications and divisions used in the Budget and in publications by the National Treasury, Federal Revenue and other federal agencies.
Therefore, there is a separation:
1. Revenue (primary revenue) and expenditure to provide public goods and services to the population and maintain the structure of the State (primary expenditure) can be seen in the first graph.
These are the data disclosed in National Treasury bulletins and which form the primary result. (This same infographic can be seen in an enlarged version when the report is read on a desktop).
2. Financial expenses and income are shown in the two pie charts below.
The biggest revenue and the biggest expense, in this case, is debt rollover (new issuances that bring in resources to pay debts that mature in the year). Interest and amortization of the public debt are fully covered by other financial income.
In this case, the numbers are from the Budget, which separates these items from primary income and expenses.
