What are the ways to export Brazilian meat
[ad_1]
– 15 Minutes podcast episode talks about Brazilian beef exports and the impact on prices in the domestic market
*) On more than one occasion, President Lula (PT) has, in a way, been critical of meat exports from Brazil.
Still in the 2022 election campaign, for example, then-candidate Lula stated: “We are going to have to discuss the price of meat in this country. We are going to discuss whether you are going to continue exporting only or whether you are going to leave a little for us to eat”.
On another occasion, Lula said that “a serious country only exports the surplus of its production; first he feeds his people, then he goes to export”. But is it possible to export more meat without “taking food off Brazilian tables”?
Such concerns, however, are detached from reality. In the beef sector, for example, led by Brazil with a quarter of global exports, 70% of production serves the domestic market.
A report published by People’s Gazette in recent days analyzes this theme. Who signs it is the editor of Agribusiness, Marcos Tosi. He is the guest of this episode of 15 Minutes podcast.
