‘Vaccine Now’: More than 1,300 people were vaccinated against Covid-19 during the campaign

Vaccination stations offer immunization on a first-come, first-served basis, without the need for prior scheduling.

Manaus (AM) – The first day of the 6th edition of the “Vaccine Já” campaign assisted 1,355 people who updated the vaccination schedule against Covid-19, until the end of the afternoon of this Friday (24), in the eight supermarkets of the Baratão da Carne chain, in Manaus . The campaign continues until Sunday (26) with the offer of doses for those aged 18 or over, in addition to the bivalent for those aged 60 or over and immunosuppressed.

The initiative is the result of a partnership between the Government of Amazonas and the Municipality of Manaus. The action counts on professionals from the Municipal Health Department of Manaus (Semsa) and the State Health Department of Amazonas (SES-AM), through the Health Surveillance Foundation of Amazonas – Drª Rosemary Costa Pinto (FVS-RCP) . In this edition, the Baratão da Carne supermarket chain is also a partner.

“Supermarkets are spaces with a large flow of people, even more so in the last week of the month. We are happy that many took advantage of the opportunity, right on the first day of this edition of the campaign, to get vaccinated. It is always good to remember that the vaccine is our main tool to prevent the worsening of cases of Covid-19”, emphasizes Tatyana Amorim, director-president of FVS-RCP.

One of the people who took advantage of vaccinations in supermarkets was retired Maria das Graças Silveira, 73, who was vaccinated at a supermarket in the Parque Dez de Novembro neighborhood, in the south-central zone of the capital.

“I’m taking the 5th dose. This vaccine initiative in supermarkets is very good. Guys, don’t stop taking your vaccine ”, she stressed.

Vaccination posts offer immunization on a first-come, first-served basis, without the need for prior scheduling. The campaign is open to anyone aged 18 or over with an offer to update their vaccination schedule, including 1st dose, 2nd dose, 1st Booster Dose (known as 3rd dose) and 2nd Booster Dose (known as 4th dose), in addition to additional dose for people with immunosuppression diseases.

In this edition, the campaign also offers a bivalent vaccine for those aged 60 or over and those with immunosuppression diseases. The other existing priority groups for this type of immunizer must seek the dose in Basic Health Units (UBS).

Documentation

Those interested in getting vaccinated must present an identification document with a photo, CPF and the National Health Service (SUS) card. For those with the delayed schedule, they must also carry the vaccination card to be updated.

Vaccination station hours will be from 10 am to 7 pm on Friday (24) and Saturday (25), and from 8 am to 2 pm on Sunday (26).
