Since they announced the name and surname of their daughter – who should be born by March 2023 –, the couple of ex-BBBs Eliezer and Viih Tube have become the target of attacks on social networks. A figure with an Instagram profile even before she was born, Lua di Felice (or Baby Tube, as she was nicknamed by her parents) will not have her paternal last name. But, after all, why does the fact raise so much discussion to the point of generating lawsuits in court?

In search of the ‘fancy name’

In 2021, Viih Tube (or Vitória Felício Moraes, as it appeared on his birth certificate) announced that he had made a name change to try to gain Italian citizenship. With the change, her name became Vitória de Felice Moraes. “Chic! I’m very Italian,” she said at the time. But that wasn’t her first nickname transformation.

Like her own daughter, the youtuber who participated in “Big Brother Brasil 21” also had her first and last name carefully thought out by her parents before her birth. The ex-BBB’s mother thought the child would be bullied if she had her father’s last name (“Pinto”). The solution was to cut the “Pinto”, pardon the pun, and replace it with the “Moraes”.

Parents don’t want last name ‘Carmo’

Companion of Viih Tube, Eliezer stressed that the decision not to put his own last name on his daughter came from himself. There’s a reason there, as he explains. Because, with only the mother’s last name, the child will be called Lua di Felice. The combination of nouns, in Italian, means “moon of happiness”. If they added the father’s name, then they would lose that meaning. Eliezer — whose name is Eliezer do Carmo Neto — believed that it would be a crime to change the meaning.

“My last name in the middle would ‘cut’ and at the end the ‘of happiness’ or ‘of felice’ would become supporting, since the rule is always the first and last name. And that’s it. For me, the name is beautiful and strong the way it is and I’m totally detached from: ‘Oh, but it doesn’t have my name'”, stresses Eliezer.

Court proceedings

The announcement of the name and surname of the daughter of the former BBBs inspired a controversy on social networks. Digital influencers were criticized for appearing to “manufacture” an ideal baby, as Internet users indicated. Viih Tube has gone public to say that they are rethinking the decision.

“Guys, I wanted to name it Lua Tube but I couldn’t… But look, Eli thought the name Lua di Felice was cute, and he believes a lot in astrology”, said Viih Tube. “He found the name strong and liked it. Now Eliezer is rethinking it, because he has just discovered that, to travel alone with his daughter, it can cause some problems not having his name on the document”, she commented.

This Thursday (9), Eliezer said he will file lawsuits against people who insulted him with curses and threats through social networks due to the fact. “I’ve let it go many times. It’s not new that they do this to me. Not this time. They went too far, and Viih got sick. I made many comments about myself and I’m going to file a lawsuit against each one”, he stated.
