Trend of Easter eggs is the total disappearance of chocolate – 04/04/2023 – Cozinha Bruta

I participated, along with 16 colleagues from Sheetfrom the tasting that elected the best Easter eggs of the 2023 season.

Anyone who has never been to such a test has a mistaken impression of the thing. I had it myself.

The open candy bar is the dream of the child who lives in our carcasses. But it must be said: eating, in one fell swoop, samples of 31 Easter eggs is no cake. Far from it.

By the third chocolate, we already feel satisfied, but we still haven’t fulfilled 10% of the mission. Guia production provided sparkling water to facilitate the task, which presumed the ingestion of a brutal amount of sugar.

You can’t get an almost microscopic piece of chocolate, because chocolate seems to be secondary in the latest generation eggs. You have to taste, in one bite, the ganache, the praline, the pistachio, the carrot cake, the salted caramel and the devil take it.

Of the 31 samples included in the tasting, only two had a 100% chocolate shell, with no filling or other elements: the Kinder egg and the Danke egg, both in the least expensive category (up to R$100).

Kinder Ovo is what it has always been: what really matters is the toy. The Danke, made entirely of milk chocolate, is very tasty.

I found the Danke the best egg of the entire tasting. Not because it’s the best chocolate, but because it fits what I consider appropriate for an Easter egg: good milk chocolate, which children love. Seriously, eggs with cranberries and fleur de sel are fetishes for adults who refuse to grow up.

The search for novelties, Easter after Easter, results in the gradual disappearance of chocolate as the protagonist of eggs. The products tasted by Sheet they still fit into the “chocolate eggs” category, far from eccentricities like the coxinha egg or the salmon temaki egg.

And look, these are still to eat. As the newspaper itself has already shown, the tendency of the paschal sector is “kinderovization”. That is, what really counts is the toast. Even Barbie and headphones join the gift dance.
