Theatrical initiation workshop opens free registration in Presidente Figueiredo, AM

Registration for the workshop is now open and there are a total of 20 places for children, young people and teenagers aged 10 and over

The project is an initiative by director, actor and artistic manager Alexandre Marques (42), who has been working in the artistic field since he was 18, but who dove headfirst into this universe in 2017, when he began accompanying his daughter, multi-artist Valentina Marques (Cangaço New).

Registration for the workshop is now open and there are a total of 20 places for children, young people and teenagers from 10 years of age, who can register via WhatsApp: 92 99612-4626 and speak to Tatiana Alicia, production assistant at team, or on Instagram: @oficinajogosteatrais, with the vacancies initially aimed at the artists who make up the cast of local shows in the city and open to the community in general, if the vacancies are not 100% filled by the day of the event, which will take place on April 6, 2024, starting at 8:00 am, at the CMAJ headquarters (Bairro Galo da Serra) in Presidente Figueiredo-AM.

Furthermore, on the same day and place, starting at 1:00 pm, there will be an exclusive class for teachers, professionals from the city’s schools and members of the city council who work behind the scenes of the theatrical productions that take place annually in the city. These participants will be nominated directly by the municipality’s departments of education, social action and culture and events.

Alexandre, who is also a resident of Presidente Figueiredo, mentions that the idea arose from the need for local artists to have access to professionals and theater courses in the city itself. This would enable the improvement and discovery of new techniques, encouraging participation and the production of theatrical shows, originating from the community’s perspective.

The main objective of the workshop “AUTONOMY OF INTERPRETATION: THE THEATER GAME AS PREPARATION FOR A SCENE” is to deepen the techniques of the local cast that participates in open-air shows, such as Auto de Natal and Paixão de Cristo, presented annually in the public square. The director comments: “Unfortunately, the cast faces challenges in stage interpretation due to the lack of encouragement and continuous theater training.” Thus, in addition to offering training, the project seeks to encourage the community to get involved in the arts, promoting autonomy in the creation and production of theatrical projects, and encouraging the local creative economy. The workshop will be led by Thiana Colares and Juca Di Souza, recognized professionals with extensive experience in the artistic scene, providing an excellent opportunity for local artists to learn and improve their theatrical skills. This will contribute to the cultural and artistic development of the region, making traditional shows such as Auto de Natal and Paixão de Cristo even more exciting and successful with the engagement and training of the community.

This project was included in the public notice for Promotion of Arts and Culture, carried out with resources from the Federal Government transferred through the Paulo Gustavo Law, operated by the Government of the State of Amazonas, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy.

About Thiana Colares

Graduated in Theater from the State University of Amazonas. Specialist in art teaching methodology. Actress, director, teacher and researcher in musical theater. As an actress, she participated in great shows such as “Urinal o Musical” in 2017 “Playbill” in 2019 “A Caixa Mágica do Natal” 2019 and 2020 “Helena” also in 2020 and “Amazônia: o Maior Espetáculo do Brasil, o Musical” 2021 As a director, she participated in “Ariel the Musical” 2017 “Saltimbancos e a Máquina” as assistant director, in addition to “The Adventures of Matilda, the Musical” as a cast preparer and scenic director.

About Juca Di Souza

He began his studies in the city of São Paulo/SP in 2002, when there was a resumption of large Musical Theater franchises in the Southeast of the country. He was mentored by master Saulo Vasconcelos and studied choral singing with Ronnie Kneblewski. He was a teacher at Casa de Artes Trilhares for 7 years, where he coordinated the Musical Theater course and carried out several works in the areas of directing and acting. In 2023 he graduated with a degree in Theater from the State University of Amazonas (UEA)
As a scenographer, he signs the works: Matilda, the Musical, The Mummers and the Machine, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Mental Storm, The Circus of Illusion. He participated in the production and scenography of the Christmas show O Encanto do Natal held in 2022 at Teatro Amazonas. He has training in Sketchup and V-ray programs, with courses focused on Architecture and Interior Design.

He currently maintains a channel called Athos Cenografia active on the digital networks Instagram and Youtube.
