The saying goes that the customer is always right. So, nothing better than the customers themselves to be the judges of a culinary competition. And it is based on this premise that the Good Gourmet launches The Next Chef project, a tasty championship to discover new talents in Curitiba’s gastronomy.
In this game, eight new talents from the city’s kitchens will face each other in a championship of seven dinners open to the public. Each night, two chefs cook. Whoever performs the best starter and main course wins and qualifies for the next stage. In the dispute, it is the public present who decides the champion, who votes on the spot.
As a way of valuing local training centers, the Good Gourmet will put the city’s gastronomy schools in this game from the beginning. The nominations for The Next Chef players will come from them, who must have graduated up to five years ago and cannot have already been elected 5-star chefs.
In the role of juror, the public. It will be the customers at each of the dinners who will choose the champion chef of the night through online voting. By dessert time, we’ll know who’s going to the next stage of the championship.
In total, there will be seven dinners: four qualifiers, two semi-finals and the final. The first dispute is scheduled to take place in February, right after Carnival week. Tickets for the dinners will be sold through the Zet platform and you can find out all the news about the championship here, at Bom Gourmet.
