The largest technology and bioeconomy event in the North region will take place in Manaus this month

Manaus (AM) – ExpoAmazônia Bio&TIC 2023, considered the largest technology, business and bioeconomy event in the North region, will take place on the 28th, 29th and 30th of November, at Studio 5 Centro de Convenções, located at Avenida Rodrigo Otávio, 3.555, Distrito Industrial I neighborhood, In Manaus. In its 3rd edition, the Fair will have the theme “Sustainable Technology from the Amazon to the World”, with the proposal to leverage the Bioeconomy (Bio) and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) hubs as two viable and sustainable economic vectors for the maintenance of the Amazon forest and the socioeconomic development of the Amazon.
In total, there will be six thematic axes: bioeconomy, biotechnology and markets; entrepreneurship and business management; appreciation of traditional knowledge; academic productions in BIO&TIC; Information and Communication Technology and markets; and creative economy and culture.
“The Amazon is a unique and essential biome for the balance of the planet. It is home to invaluable biodiversity and is an important reservoir of water and carbon. But we are dealing with many problems and technology and new business models can help us in the search for sustainable development, which respects the Amazonian people and their identity”,
emphasizes Murilo Monteiro, executive director of the Associação do Polo Digital de Manaus (APDM), one of the institutions organizing the event.

ExpoAmazônia Bio&Tic will promote more than 60 free lectures on technology, business and bioeconomy for the development of the Northern Region.
Among the main confirmed speakers are Harim Feitosa, CEO and founder of Soul Hara; Tatiana Schor, head of the Amazon unit at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB); Francisco Higuchi, CEO of Tero Carbon; Gustavo Tosello Pinheiro, Low Carbon Economy coordinator at Instituto Clima e Sociedade (iCS); Rafael Moreira, CEO and founder of Bertha Capital; Rodinelli Borges de Oliveira, patent examiner at the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI); Ariel Marcelo Madril, technological consultant at the Eldorado Research Institute; Caio Stenio Agmont, CEO & founder of Ages Bioactive; and many others.
The opening of the event will be held on the 28th, starting at 3pm, with Vânia Thaumaturgo, president of the APDM Board of Directors; Radyr Júnior, municipal secretary of Labor, Entrepreneurship and Innovation (SEMTEPI); Bosco Saraiva, superintendent of the Manaus Free Trade Zone (SUFRAMA); Serafim Corrêa, state secretary for Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation (SEDECTI); Luciana Santos, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI); and Geraldo Alckmin, vice-president of the Republic.
Other prominent lectures are “What is missing for the implementation of the green economy in the Amazon”, “Carbon Credit – A New Economic Vector for the Amazon”, “Demystifying Entrepreneurship in the Amazon”, “Challenges and technologies for bioeconomy production chains” , “The development of antibodies and biotechnological inputs applicable to the area of human and veterinary health in the diagnosis of diseases”, and “Revolution and Evolution: Navigating the future of work with Artificial Intelligence”.
In addition, there will be four spaces for the thematic axes: main stage, exhibition, knowledge trail rooms and arenas. The first will host the opening of the Fair, keynote lectures and panels; while the exhibition area will host companies and startups that will present their pitch decks. The knowledge trail rooms will host lectures, mentoring, panels and round tables open to the public. Finally, the arenas will host programming linked to the themes of business match, code challenge gamer and school challenge.
