The increase is attributed to growing awareness about the importance of inclusion in the workplace

The year 2023 saw an increase in demand for employment opportunities for people with disabilities (PwD), according to data from the National Employment Bank (BNE). Compared to the previous year, the number of CVs registered on the platform rose from 1,759 in 2022 to 3,922 in 2023, representing a growth of approximately 123%.

BNE operations director, José Tortato, attributes this increase to growing awareness of the importance of inclusion in the workplace.

“Companies from different sectors have adopted more inclusive policies, creating a more equitable work environment and contributing to a fairer and more inclusive society for all,”

says Tortato.

Despite these advances, Tortato highlights that there is still much to be done. According to data from the 2022 National Household Sample Survey (PNAD), it is estimated that there are 18.6 million people with disabilities in Brazil, more than half of whom are women, totaling 10.7 million.

However, more than 55% of these people face informality in the job market, while only 26.6% obtain formal employment, compared to the national employment average of 60.7%.

National Jobs Bank

Having been in the market for over 20 years, Banco Nacional de Empregos (BNE) is one of the most important CV sites in Brazil.

The main objective is to facilitate interconnection between employer and employee in the labor market quickly and efficiently. BNE has more than 135 thousand registered companies, which seek CVs daily and offer several new job opportunities every day.
