The Best of São Paulo: outstanding bars and restaurants – 08/14/2023 – The best of São Paulo

After the wave of restaurants that were forced to close their doors in the pandemic, the city of São Paulo is experiencing a moment of gastronomic effervescence – with public feedback and a long list of novelties. This is the scenario covered by the 2023 edition of O Melhor de São Paulo Gastronomia – Restaurantes, Bares & Cozinha.

The special lists restaurants, bars and delicacies (a section that brings together bakeries, coffee shops, pastry shops and hamburgers, among others) that deserve the reader’s visit. They will be presented according to their specialty and with information about neighborhoods and regions of the city where they are located, to make life easier for those looking for options within walking distance.

The Best of São Paulo will be available on all platforms Sheet and will reach subscribers’ homes in magazine format. It will also be on sale at newsstands in Greater São Paulo along with the printed edition of the newspaper.

In addition to a selection of approximately 700 addresses, the special highlights the best houses in the city, divided by category. In restaurants, there are 25 – for example, best Italian, French, Japanese, Latin American cuisine, as well as best novelty. Bars and snacks add up, together, to another 29 categories.

The professionals who lead these operations (chefs, bartenders, pastry chefs, baristas and sommeliers) were also voted by the jury, a group of 40 journalists, content producers and specialized influencers.

In addition to awarding the judges, the special includes the opinion of residents in the region through a survey that draws up the list of the best addresses in São Paulo according to the profile interviewed by Datafolha.

This survey, which presents bars and restaurants, was carried out with São Paulo residents aged 18 years or older, with a monthly family income of at least five minimum wages and who usually visit these establishments at least once a week. The surveys were carried out between the 19th and 30th of June of this year – in the case of bars, 733 interviews were carried out; of restaurants, 797.

The margin of error is plus or minus 4 percentage points, assuming a 95% confidence level.

In addition to this survey, Datafolha conducted another on the habits of São Paulo residents in the kitchen – a topic that gained ground during the pandemic and which, since then, has remained high.

The survey was carried out in the city of São Paulo with people aged 16 or over from classes A and B, who usually cook at least once a week. Respondents indicated their favorite brands in 51 categories of products that are indispensable to the daily lives of those who prepare their meals at home – including breakfast, lunch and special moments, such as barbecue. Utensils that make life easier for cooks, essential for the domestic kitchen, were not left out.

In all surveys, respondents were approached at people flow points in the five regions of the city of São Paulo by a team of 62 members.
