Thaïs Morell synthesizes experiences around the world on the album, ‘Quatro Cantos’, made with producer of A Banda Mais Bonita da Cidade

♪ Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Paraná, born in Curitiba (PR), Thaïs Morell releases her third album with authorial repertoire on June 28th. The title, Quatro cantos, may allude to a synthesis of the artist’s experiences around the world. Morell has already lived in Finland and Ghana, having returned to Brazil in 2016 after a series of shows and workshops held in more than 50 cities in countries such as Spain, France, Italy, Colombia, Uruguay, Belgium, Holland and England. Quatro cantos is an album recorded between May 2020 and March 2023 with musical production and arrangements orchestrated by Vinícius Nisi – producer of A Banda Mais Bonita da Cidade – with Thaïs Morell herself. “Quatro Cantos songs bring reflections on life and time, which is a line of my work. But, on this record, I decided to experiment with sounds that didn’t appear on my first two albums. (It is) a more modern work, with elements of electronic music mixed with acoustic ones”, conceptualizes the artist. With six tracks that fit the disc more in the format of an EP than an album, Quatro cantos includes in its repertoire the songs Lua vai lua vem, Navega, Nessa casa (the only composition signed by the artist in partnership, in this case with Renaclo from Curitiba), Above all now, Therapy and the title theme Four Corners.
