The initiatives strengthen the sector in the state with the union of technology, infrastructure and sustainability

Manaus (AM) – The installation of solar panels from the Brilha Amazonas project, in the Cipiá indigenous community (80 kilometers from Manaus), transformed the lives of residents with the arrival of lighting.

“We suffered from constant power outages, which harmed the community that works in tourism. The panels brought many benefits and helped to improve our service. We are grateful for the support from Amazonastur and the state government”,

declared the chief, Francis Vaz.

The community was one of those awarded with the delivery of solar panel kits made possible by the Government of Amazonas, through the Amazonas State Tourism Company (Amazonastur), to benefit regions without access to electricity.

Cipiá, Tatuyo, Diakuru and Tuyuka are part of the institution’s Tourist Planning Plan (POT), which promotes the practice of ethnotourism in the region.

Since it was launched in February 2023, the Brilha Amazonas project has delivered more than 500 pieces of equipment, distributed in São Sebastião do Uatumã, Presidente Figueiredo, Maués, Manaus, Iranduba, Parintins, Rio Preto da Eva, Boa Vista do Ramos, Careiro and Autazes.

The initiative is part of the historic actions promoted by Amazonastur to boost the Amazonas destination, which also includes the creation of the technological tool “Amazonas To Go”, in addition to investments in sustainable tourism, tourist infrastructure works, planning actions, expansion of the air network and training of tourism professionals.

“The year 2023 was very positive for Amazonian tourism, the result of investments and work by the State Government in important areas of the sector. This made it possible to carry out new actions and projects to strengthen tourism potential, in addition to continuing actions that are already successful. All of this is thanks to Governor Wilson Lima, who was the person who most developed tourism in the state of Amazonas”,

highlighted the president of Amazonastur, Ian Ribeiro.

Amazon To Go

Aiming to provide the best service and convenience for those visiting the state, the Amazonas To Go chatbot offers quick, easy and secure information about accommodation, restaurants, accredited guides and other useful data in the palm of the tourist’s hand.

Launched in May 2023, the innovative tool already operates in the municipalities of Manaus, Rio Preto da Eva, Parintins, Presidente Figueiredo, Manacapuru, Iranduba, Novo Airão, Careiro, Boa Vista do Ramos, Maués, Humaitá and Itacoatiara.

Awareness

The actions to raise awareness, order and regularize tourist services were the pillars of Amazonastur, resulting in unprecedented initiatives, such as the one with the Ministry of Tourism (MTur) in the Port of Manaus and Lago do Janauari, being the only region to make up the Consultative Committee of the Cadastur (CCCad).

89 direct actions were carried out to publicize campaigns that include raising awareness against the illegal handling of wild animals, against the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, illegal use of wild animal feathers in adornments, in addition to Accessibility Tourism and Hello Tourist.

Amazonastur also carried out actions aimed at guiding the Registry of Tourist Service Providers (Cadastur), which reached more than 2,500 regularized providers.

More qualified professionals

To increase job and qualification opportunities in the sector, Amazonastur promoted the training of over 800 professionals through the Bem Receive workshop in 11 municipalities. Almost 300 people were qualified in the Sport Fishing Driver course in the municipalities of Borba, Careiro, Coari, Maués, Nhamundá, Novo Airão and Rio Preto da Eva, carried out in an unprecedented partnership with the State Secretariat for Rural Production (Sepror).
