The beginning of Taylor’s tour in Brazil was marked by tragedy and much confusion at the Nilton Santos stadium and its surroundings.
Taylor Swift’s two remaining shows in Rio de Janeiro have changed times. The show’s organizer, T4F, announced on social media that the performances today (19) and Monday (20) will begin at 8:30 pm, one hour later than initially scheduled.
High temperatures and the death of a fan at Taylor’s opening show in Brazil were the motivation for changing the schedules.
“For Taylor Swift’s next two shows, The Eras Tour, in Rio de Janeiro, on November 19th and 20th, the times have been adjusted for a better experience. On these days, we recommend that you arrive at the stadium closer to gate opening times to avoid long periods of sun exposure in the stadium’s external areas,”
published T4F.
The beginning of Taylor’s tour in Brazil was marked by tragedy and much confusion at the Nilton Santos stadium and its surroundings. On Friday, university student Ana Clara Benevides, 23, died after falling ill right at the beginning of Taylor’s presentation. The thermal sensation in the place was 60ºC.
This Saturday, the singer postponed the show with around an hour and a half left before the start of her performance, also motivated by the strong heat in Rio de Janeiro.
“I’m writing this from my dressing room at the stadium. The decision was made to postpone tonight’s show due to the extreme temperature conditions in Rio. The safety and well-being of my fans, bandmates and crew must always come first,”
said the singer on social media.
