The event brought together local and global experts and brands to present innovations in the production chains of the photovoltaic, PV production and solar thermal technologies sectors.

After three days of intense contact with industry and trade representatives and approaches to potential investors with technical guidance on the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM), Suframa finalized, last week, its participation in the “Intersolar South America” congress, considered the biggest solar energy event in Latin America.

The event, which took place between August 29th and 31st, at Expo Center Norte, in São Paulo (SP), was part of the program of the fair “The smarter E South America” and aimed to bring together specialists and local and global brands to present innovations in the production chains of the photovoltaic, PV production and solar thermal technologies sectors, as well as discuss current issues related to market advances in these segments.

Through the work of Camilla Medeiros, from the General Coordination for the Analysis of Industrial Projects, and Adamilton Mourão, from the General Coordination of Foreign Trade and International Affairs, Suframa accounted for more than 90 contacts with national and international investors over the course of three days of activities. foreigners (from countries such as Canada and China, among others) and entities representing undertakings in the energy sector such as the Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy (Absolar), the Brazilian Association of Distributed Generation (ABGD) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Brazil and Germany. They also made courtesy visits to the stands of companies already installed in the Industrial Pole of Manaus (PIM), such as Elgin, BYD, WEG and Unicoba, among others.

Interactions with businessmen and investors had the main objective of resolving doubts about the ZFM’s tax regime and the possibilities envisaged with the current Tax Reform, as well as discussing requirements related to Basic Productive Processes (PPBs).

Among the more than 90 stands visited, approximately 40 companies showed interest in learning more about the Manaus Free Trade Zone, either to industrialize or to market their product line. Special emphasis, in this sense, to a company in the air conditioning segment that, among the various products aimed at the line of renewable energy, showed interest in directing the production of an air conditioning unit to the Manaus Free Trade Zone that, currently, it imports with a view to commercialization in the domestic market.

According to Camilla Medeiros, the commercial promotion and investment attraction actions carried out by Suframa during the congress can positively impact the business environment of the Manaus Free Trade Zone in the coming years.

“Suframa’s participation was important to publicize the advantages and opportunities of the ZFM project in a pedagogical way, as many of the executives present at the congress are still unaware of the investment possibilities in our region. Not to mention that the Autarchy was also able to update itself on the innovations and trends of the promising renewable energy market which, due to its sustainability guidelines, also arouses a lot of interest from the superintendence to be promoted in our region”,

Camilla said.
