The Rescue Operations in Emergencies and Pre-Hospital Care course for 55 Firefighters
Manaus (AM) – The Secretary of Public Security of Amazonas (SSP-AM), through the Integrated Institute of Public Security Education (IESP) is training 55 military personnel in the Emergency Rescue Operations and Pre-Hospital Care (CORE-APH) course, aimed at for the Amazon Military Fire Brigade (CBMAM).
The instructions began in April, with the objective of enabling and qualifying the CBMAM official military and health officer in the Rescue and Pre-hospital Care (APH) activities, to act in providing emergency care and manage rescue and rescue situations, in the exercise of the attributions inherent to the function of a military firefighter.
With classes given at the IESP headquarters, in the Industrial District, the course has a workload of 286 hours, with 55 students, and will train the professional military firefighter to act in cases of traffic accidents, fires, floods, landslides, clinical emergencies such as cardiac arrest , (PCR), airway obstruction, emergency delivery, situations of psychiatric disorders, tactical pre-hospital care, event prevention, among other emergencies and activities.
The trained military personnel will work in the Rescue Units (UR) and in the Rapid Intervention Vehicles (VIR), which perform numerous rescue calls and pre-hospital urgent and emergency care, in urban and road environments, among others.
Students are taught Introduction to APH and Rescue disciplines; Clinical Emergency Cardiology; Respiratory Emergencies; Clinical Neurological Emergencies; Traumatic Emergencies; Psychiatric and Drug Emergencies; Aquatic Emergencies and Rescue in Liquid Media; Management in Major Emergency Situations and Curricular Internship.
Carried out in partnership with the Amazonas Military Fire Brigade (CBMAM) and IESP, coordinated by Campus IV of the Teaching Institute, the Rescue Operations Course in Emergency and Pre-Hospital Care is scheduled for completion on May 25th.
Prehospital Care
Prehospital care or APH refers to first aid performed at the accident site and in serious cases, where this action can be the difference between the patient’s life and death. According to the Fire Department, there is a fixed triage and control system, where the initial analysis of the case is carried out and the type of team required for basic or advanced assistance is indicated.
