Song Joong Ki, from ‘Vincenzo’ and ‘Reborn Rich’, Announces He’s Married and Becoming a Father

South Korean actor Song Joong Ki, 38, announced on Monday that he married British actress Katy Louise Saunders, 37, and that they are expecting a child. The news was announced on the star’s fancafe, famous for his roles in successful K-dramas, such as “Descendants of the Sun” (2016), “Vincenzo” (2021) and “Reborn Rich” (2022).

“Today, I want to share with you the most precious and happiest promise of my life,” he wrote in the post. “I vowed to spend the rest of my life with Katy Louise Saunders, who stood by my side with support and care between us as we spent precious time together.”

Joong Ki also said that he is becoming a better person when he is in a relationship with Katy Louise and reported that both had the dream of building a family.

“We tried very hard to keep our promises to each other and luckily, a precious life has come between the two of us,” he said.

Katy Louise Saunders is known for having acted in the films Los Borgia (2006), Third Person (2013) and “Lizzie McGuire – A Popstar Dream” (2003). Daughter of a British father and a Colombian mother, she was born in England and grew up between the United Kingdom and Italy due to her father’s work. Katy studied Business in Milan and ended up starring in several Italian films. In the series “Non smettere di sognare” (2011) she was the protagonist alongside Roberto Farnesi.

This is Joong Ki’s second marriage. He was married to 41-year-old South Korean actress Song Hye-kyo, with whom he was a romantic couple in “Descendants of the Sun”, between 2017 and 2019. The former couple had no children.
