Owner of the hit ‘Me namora’ along with former leader of the band Nação Regueira perform on July 29, at Ao Mirante

Manaus (AM) – The Amazon World Music Festival – AWMF promotes another night with the best of Amazonian and national Reggae. It is the Virada Reggae AWMF with Edu Ribeiro, Carlinhos Nação, Cileno, Johnny Jack Mesclado, DJ Zulu. The event will take place on the 29th of July, starting at 5 pm, at Ao Mirante.

Starting at 5 pm, DJ Zulu is responsible for the soundtrack of the most beautiful sunset in Manaus. At 8 pm, special guests remember national and international rock pop and reggae hits. At 10 pm, Johnny Jack Mesclado takes the stage, one of the greatest reggae bands in the Amazon that promises to make the public rave with their great hits.

On stage, JJ Mesclado also receives Cileno, and the national attraction Carlinhos Nação. Then, Edu Ribeiro takes the stage to the commotion of roots Reggae fans.

Edu Ribeiro

Considered one of the main names in national reggae, he is a former member of the band Circuladô de Fulô. He became known nationally with the hit Me Namora. In 2006, he released his first DVD, Edu Ribeiro ao Vivo, recorded at Estância Alto da Serra, in São Paulo. In the same year, Edu Ribeiro gained national prominence with the hit “Me Namora”, a song that would be the biggest success of his career.

In 2006 “Me Namora” was the most played Brazilian song on radio stations in the country, second only to “You’re Beautiful” by James Blunt and “Because Of You” by Kelly Clarkson. In the same year, the hit “O sol, a lis e o hummingbird (Flor de Lis)” was also successful, being among the most played songs on the radio in 2006 and 2007, respectively.

In 2007 he released the album “Luau”, the flagship was the hit “De Mais Nunca” which was among the 100 most played songs of the year on radio stations in Brazil. Also noteworthy is “Você por Nearby”, with the participation of Chorão, lead singer of Charlie Brown Jr.

Carlinhos Nação

Carlinhos Nação is one of the great personalities of the national reggae scene, singer, cultural producer, formed and led the band Nação Regueira with his brother Paulinho Nação. Composer of great successes such as Sentimento Bom, With you I get zenm Quem é do Mar é do Bem, and the most recent single ‘Mente Sã, Corpo São’.
