The event is signed by Amazonian artisan Wendel Gustavo and continues until the 31st
Manaus (AM) – The Geek, Nerd and Pop Culture universe exhibition takes place between the 8th and 31st, on the L2 floor of Shopping Grande Circular, as part of the holiday activities. The exhibition is free and brings to life characters from films, anime and drawings, through the art of ‘papercraft’. Visitors can visit during the mall’s opening hours.
The exhibition features more than 30 life-size sculptures, all made exclusively with paper, measuring 1m70. Each work is signed by the artist Wendel Gustavo De Oliveira Silva, recognized for his talent and originality. The artisan has already had prominent participation in national events, taking the rich Amazonian culture to several states in the country.
The focus of the exhibition lies in highlighting one of the most distinctive forms of artistic expression today: ‘papercraft’. Although it shares similarities with traditional origami, the uniqueness of the technique lies in the construction of the pieces using scissors and glue, this is what artist Wendel Gustavo explains.
“The idea is to provide a very immersive experience, letting everyone enjoy the magic of craftsmanship and the exquisite representation of the characters and scenarios that are icons in the geek universe”,
said Wedel.
