The space was temporarily closed due to severe drought, which made it impossible to reach the site by river.

The Vila Paraíso Seringal Museum, located in the rural area of Manaus, will reopen for public visits from February 1st. The museum is open from Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 3pm (except on Wednesdays, when it closes for maintenance), and on Sundays, from 9am to 1pm.

The suspension of activities occurred due to the severe drought that hit the region in recent months, as access to the Seringal Museum is exclusively by river. The transfer departs from Marina do Davi, located on Avenida Coronel Teixeira, in Ponta Negra.

Visitation is free, with the crossing made by the Cooperative of River Transport Professionals of Marina do Davi (Acamdaf) at R$ 21 each way, that is, R$ 42 round trip.

“The Seringal Museum has an entire itinerary relating to the life of the rubber tapper, with a fully crafted setting that reproduces a rubber plantation from the era of the rubber cycle. Our entire visit is mediated by a space tourism guide. It’s a very interesting tour, it’s well worth visiting,” said Aline Santana, director of the Department of Museums at the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, who invited the public to come and see the return of the cultural space.

More information about the Seringal Museum and other spaces can be found on the Amazonas Department of Culture and Creative Economy website or social media (cultura.am.gov.br and @culturadoam).
