For this year’s revelry, Anitta chose to pay homage to characters and female figures in her shows. Since before Carnival, when she held rehearsals for her group in several cities in Brazil, the singer has performed in special costumes. For this Saturday, when she presents her megablock in her hometown, in downtown Rio, the Poderosa by Honório Gurgel promises yet another devastating outfit.

Recently, Anitta said that after Carnival she would fulfill some commitments and play projects in progress, but she added that, as soon as she concluded them, she would take a few months of vacation.

1. Tieta

The first character in Anitta’s fantasies, used in her block rehearsal in Salvador, comes from the novel “Tieta do Agreste”, by Jorge Amado, which was freely adapted for the soap opera “Tieta”. The costume of the protagonist of the production was used as inspiration. In the story, the young woman is expelled from the city of Santana do Agreste for her liberal behavior. Rejected and humiliated, Tieta flees from local conservatism by settling in São Paulo. There, she makes her fortune, but her family doesn’t know how.

2. Marietta Baderna

Anitta used this costume in one of the rehearsals she did in Rio de Janeiro. Marietta Baderna was an Italian ballerina who went into exile in Brazil, and her performances became popular in Rio de Janeiro. She put 19th century conservatism to the test by her free behavior. Her name entered the vocabulary of Brazilian Portuguese.

3. Valentina Tereshkova
