Secretary of Revenue contradicts himself in post about auditor strike – 11/23/2023 – Panel SA

The query made by the special secretary of the Federal Revenue, Robinson Barreirinhas, to the AGU (Attorney General of the Union) asking for legal action against the civil servants’ strike did not go down well with the auditors.

The strike threatens the judgments of Carf, the taxpayers’ appeals council, and puts more than R$90 billion in processes at risk at the moment.

The Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, counts these resources towards meeting the target defined by the framework.

In defense of their right to strike, the auditors recovered a post from Barreirinhas from April 2017 in which the secretary wrote the following:

“If you are against [as reformas em curso à época] If you want to protest through a strike, but are afraid of losing your job or possibly being cut, talk to your colleagues, friends, unions and even your lawyer, because failing to exercise a fundamental right out of fear is simply sad. Understandable, but sad.”

In a statement, the Federal Revenue Service said that Barreirinhas maintained constant contact with the Union and the president of CARF over the last week, reiterating respect for the right to strike, but stressing that it is not absolute and cannot harm the continuity of essential public services. . According to the agency, it is necessary to maintain a minimum percentage of service in all units.
