Secretariat of Education holds 2nd edition of the Folk Festival of the state schools of Manacapuru

Manacapuru – The traditional Folkloric Festival of the State Schools of Manacapuru (68 kilometers from Manaus) reaches its 2nd edition with the participation of all 20 schools in the state network of the municipality. Of this total, 15 schools will make the cultural presentations. Bringing multiculturalism, the event seeks to promote the integration of students, teachers and the community in general.

On the first night of the festival, residents of the municipality were able to attend performances of folkloric dances, traditional and comic square dances. There were eight attractions prepared by the schools, including EE Joaquim Coelho, who presented the group “Girassóis da Esperança”, CMPM IX Jamil Seffair, who led the group “CMPM na Roça”, EE José Seffair, with “O balance breakdance from the José Seffair school” and EE Carlos Pinho, which promoted the show “Being different is cool”.

According to the Deputy Pedagogical Coordinator, Gelcimara Moraes, the festival brought together approximately 3,000 students, divided into 15 presentations.

“We have 20 schools in the municipality, of which we will have at least 15 teaching units with cultural presentations, ranging from traditional square dances to presentations of dances with different rhythms, which involves the participation of all students from our state network of Manacapuru”, explained the coordinator.
The festival also features bingos and performances by the bands Zabumbada and Forró Casado.

Regional coordinator Professor Messias Furtado evaluated the first night as “exceeding expectations”, as the audience was great and the presentations were very well performed.

“It was a joy for us to see families having fun, our students happy to participate in the event. Education is not just done in the classroom. Education is movement and art is the way to construct knowledge. Congratulations are all, students, family members and the entire school team. Holding an event like this helps to promote cultural diversity, values ​​art and creativity, in addition to encouraging tourism and moving the economy of our city”, highlighted the professor.
