A Federal Savings Bank and the Bank of Brazil (BB) pay the second batch of the salary bonus of the PIS/Pasep 2023 (base year 2021) from this Wednesday (day 15). At this stage, the benefit must include 3,714,180 low-income workersaccording to the Ministry of Labor and Employment.

The government estimates that payments will demand R$ 3 .69 billion in resources.

The largest amount will be allocated to workers in the private sector, who receive the PIS — almost 3.5 million will be covered, equivalent to 93% of the total. The amounts for this group will be deposited by Caixa Econômica Federal.

Another 254,300 public servants will be entitled to Pasep this month, with amounts paid by Banco do Brasil.

Who is entitled to the benefit

Employees in the public and private sectors who have exercised at least 30 days of paid workconsecutive or not, in the base year for granting the benefit — in this case, 2021. During this period, he must have received up to 2 minimum wages.

To be eligible, the worker must still be registered with the PIS/Pasep system for at least five years, counting from the date of the first contract. The registration information referring to the base year 2021 must also have been updated by the employer in eSocial or in the Annual Social Information List (Rais).

It is worth mentioning that Resolution 838, of 2019, determines that the amounts not received in life by the holders are assured to the dependents or legal successors.

How to query

To find out if you are entitled to the benefit, the worker needs an authenticated account on the Gov.br portal, if you don’t already have one, or you have to download the Digital Work Card (CTPS Digital) application. The download is free from the App Store and Play Store. After logging in, consult the “Benefits” option in the lower menu and select “Salary allowance”. Another option is to call 158.

For public servants, it is possible to find out about Pasep at the BB call center, by calling 4004-0001 or 0800-729-0001, or by going to the bb website. com. Just fill in the Pasep registration number or CPF and date of birth.

How much should I receive and how to withdraw

If the worker is eligible for the benefit, the amount of the salary bonus to be received will be proportional to the number of months worked in the base year 2021. The maximum amount is one minimum wage (R$ 1,302 in 2023).

The receipt of amounts is automatic for those who have a checking or savings account at Caixa (in the case of PIS) or at Banco do Brasil (in the case of Pasep).

Those who are not customers should look for financial institutions to withdraw at the cashier. For this, they must carry an official identification document with a photo and the PIS/Pasep number. The registration number can be checked on the Meu INSS website, through the National Register of Social Information (Cnis), in the FGTS application or in the Caixa Trabalhador application.

Other ways to redeem the amount are through the Caixa Tem app or using the Citizen Card with a password at self-service terminals or Caixa Aqui correspondents (in the case of private initiative workers).
