Searches for federal intervention and Urdu grow in 2023 – 12/11/2023 – Tech

The fastest growing question in the “what is it?” on Google Brazil during the year 2023 compared to the previous year was: “What is federal intervention?”.

The data comes from the annual survey carried out by the platform that shows the main terms and topics that soared this year compared to the previous year.

Brazilians were also interested in knowing what it is, in this order: Urdu, Hamas, thread, amnesty, NPC, Gaza Strip, intersex, ChatGPT and spotted fever. Do you know what each of these searches is?

What is federal intervention?

Federal intervention was the measure approved in the Federal District and decreed by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) due to the coup plotters who invaded the Três Poderes buildings on January 8. After the incident, the January 8th CPI was created to investigate the attacks.

What is Urdu?

Lula’s supporters chanted the expression “no amnesty” when the now inaugurated president read in his speech an excerpt from a report produced by the transition team with a diagnosis of the country under the management of his predecessor, Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

Therefore, after January 8th, there were mobilizations highlighting the need not to amnesty people linked to anti-democratic attacks.

What is NPC?

Territory that is home to different Palestinian communities expelled from their lands in 1948, the date of the creation of the State of Israel. The location is the center of dispute between Israel and Hamas, as well as being the target of ground offensives and air attacks due to the war.

What is intersex?

The term is used to define people who present differences in traditional sexual development, but this condition is still little known by the general population.

The word grew in searches after influencer Karen Bachini announced that she is an intersex person.

What is ChatGPT?

It is the artificial intelligence (AI) tool developed by OpenAI launched on November 30 last year. Using a natural language processing model, the chatbot can understand and create convincing answers to questions.

What is spotted fever?

The disease is transmitted by ticks infected by the bacteria Rickettsia rickettsii, present mainly in the star tick, but there is no person-to-person transmission.

Spotted fever caused a sequence of deaths after a party in Campinas in June 2023.
