São Paulo Invoice releases R$38 million; know how to redeem – 02/16/2024 – Market

Sefaz-SP (State Secretariat for Finance and Planning of São Paulo) releases this Friday (16) R$ 38.33 million in credits to participants registered in the Nota Fiscal Paulista program. The amount refers to purchases and donations of tax coupons made in October 2023.

Of this total, R$16.94 million will be credited to individuals who are registered in the program and have requested the inclusion of their CPF in invoices for their own purchases. Another R$20.84 million will be released to charities across the state.

According to the secretariat, in the first two months of 2024, more than R$75 million have already been released by the Nota Fiscal Paulista to participants.

To transfer funds to a current account or savings account, you must access the State Treasury website or the official Nota Fiscal Paulista application, providing your CPF or CNPJ and the registered password. The amounts will be credited to the indicated account within 20 days.

Since 2021, Nota Fiscal Paulista credits remain available to consumers for one year from release and can be used at any time within this period.

The secretariat states that it is important for participants to pay attention to redemption, as amounts released in previous months expire every month. After that, it is no longer possible to redeem the credit. The minimum amount for transfer is R$0.99.

The Nota Fiscal Paulista program was created in October 2007 to encourage tax payments and reduce tax evasion in São Paulo. According to the state government, the program distributes up to 30% of the ICMS (Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services) effectively collected by commercial establishments to consumers who request the invoice and include the CPF or CNPJ, proportional to the value of the invoice.

The refund is made in credits released monthly that can be redeemed in cash or used to pay IPVA (Motor Vehicle Property Tax). In this case, you must make the option on the Nota Fiscal Paulista website by October, to use the credit to pay the following year’s tax.

On the Nota Fiscal Paulista page, access the “Current account” menu and then click on “Use Credits” and select the option “Repayment or reduction in the value of IPVA”. The indicated vehicle must be in the name of the user registered in the program for the option to be valid.

The consumer can also request the tax document without indicating their CPF or CNPJ and donate it to a social assistance, health, education, defense and animal or cultural protection entity registered in the Nota Fiscal Paulista program, if they wish. This is a personal and exclusive decision of the consumer.

HOW TO REDEEM THE CREDIT ON THE PAULISTA INVOICE

1. Access the website portal.fazenda.sp.gov.br
2. In “Citizen”, on the right side of the screen, go to “Nota Fiscal Paulista”
3. Enter your CPF and password, click on “I’m not a robot” and go to “Access”
4. On the next page, on the left side, above, your balance will appear. Go to “Withdraw”
5. Choose whether the credit will be in a current account or savings account
6. Check the registered account or register one; the bank account must be in your name
7. Then, choose the amount you want to transfer, enter it in “Amount” and go to “Confirm”
8. A message will appear informing that the amount will be credited to the account entered within 20; click on “Make transfer”
9. The system will provide a control number, write it down and click “Ok”

In addition to credit redemption, consumers registered in the program compete in monthly draws. A resident of Bertioga, on the coast of São Paulo, started 2024 as a millionaire. He won R$1 million in the January draw, competing with 11 electronic tickets relating to purchases made in September 2023.

The Nota Fiscal Paulista also awards, monthly, five charitable entities in the state with a prize of R$100,000 each.

In January, the winners were Apae (Association of Parents and Friends of the Exceptional), from Itapira; Lar Esperança, in São José do Rio Preto; Diaconia São Judas Tadeu, from Americana; Cultural and Assistance Charitable Association, of Olímpia; and Abrasta (Brazilian Thalassemia Association), in the capital of São Paulo.

According to data from Sefaz-SP, the Nota Fiscal Paulista returned around R$18.5 billion to program participants, including R$16.4 billion in credits and more than R$2.1 billion in prizes in the 182 draws already held. .
