Singer Rita Lee, hospitalized at Albert Einstein Hospital, in São Paulo, is recovering, according to musician Roberto de Carvalho, her husband.
He posted a message on Instagram and thanked the family for the support he has received, which he called a “tsunami of love”.
Roberto de Carvalho posted: “Rita is fine, getting stronger, recovering. It is known that there will always be monitoring tests and therapies to be carried out, which will eventually result in hospitalizations, since one has to deal with the disease and the effects treatments. We thank you for the tsunami of love, affection and positivity that we have received. Thank you very much. And let’s go ahead, and may the great lights of the universe be guiding us all the way.”
Rita Lee, aged 75, was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2021. In the early hours of Friday, the 24th, she was admitted to the Albert Einstein hospital. Rita Lee’s family even celebrated the singer’s lung cancer remission last year.
According to the newspaper O Globo, Rita was hospitalized because, in recent days, she lost weight and is in a more fragile state of health.
The doctors then decided that it would be more appropriate to keep her under observation in a preventive way.
Last week, Roberto de Carvalho published a photo of Rita Lee on his Instagram.
Rita also used social media recently to show off her painted nails. She was carnival, and she wrote in the caption: “In revelry mood.”
