♪ Announced in May last year with the release of the single Xona (2023), the third studio album by São Paulo rapper Rincon Sapiência, Um corpo preto, is scheduled for release in the second half of this year 2024. Yesterday, March 1st, the artist presented another song from the successor to the album Mundo Manicongo – Dramas, dances e afroreps (2019). Composition made by Sapiência in partnership with Oldilla and recorded at Estúdio MGoma, where it was mixed and mastered by Hiro$hi, Jogo de waist is the second single from the album Um corpo preto. If Xona flirted with afrobeat, Jogo de waist evolves on the funk beat. The rapper’s intention is to use different styles on the album Um Corpo Preto to talk about “the everyday joys and complexities” of the lives of black people in the outskirts. In line with the concept of the album, the song Jogo de waist generated a clip scripted and directed by Rincon Sapiência himself. In the clip, Sapiência forms a couple with actress Jacqueline Santana, seen with the rapper on the cover of the single Jogo de waist.
