To obtain the title, opinions on buildings, churches, cathedrals, historic sites across the country were analyzed by the Portuguese website Andi

After the city of Manaus occupies the list of the 52 tourist destinations of 2023, prepared by the American newspaper New York Times, the architectural symbol of the capital of Amazonas, the Teatro Amazonas, is highlighted in the online survey of the website Angi, which pointed to the historical monument as “the most beautiful in Brazil”.

The research, carried out by the Portuguese website, analyzed 132 countries, including Brazil, and based on information, opinions and content related to tourism, the majestic theater in the heart of the Amazon was associated more often with the word “beautiful”, in the comments online, TripAdvisor travel site.

Teatro Amazonas is part of the set of cultural spaces managed by the Government of Amazonas, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy. For the secretary of the folder, Marco Apolo Muniz, the monument that represents one of the symbols of the Amazon, is a source of pride for the Amazonians.

“The Teatro Amazonas is the result of the rubber cycle, an architectural landmark that has moved the culture of our state for 126 years. Listed as a national historic heritage, the theater reserves a beauty that stands out from the others, as it preserves part of the original architecture and decoration”, reveals the secretary.

In addition to architectural beauty, Teatro Amazonas meets technical and structural criteria, essential for holding major events such as the Amazonas Opera Festival, Jazz, Dance and Theater Festival.

“The Teatro Amazonas stage has already hosted big names from the local artistic class, with national and international projection. It is certainly one of the most disputed cultural spaces in all of Brazil, due to the grandeur that the monument presents, for its architectural beauty and for offering conditions for the most varied formats of events”, highlights Apolo.

The director of Teatro Amazonas, Sigrid Cetraro, also considers the recognition of the historical heritage as the most beautiful in Brazil, a source of pride for the Amazonian population, which should generate even more tourist demand in the state.

“Certainly, this research result will result in greater demand for visitors to the Theater, which is an icon of Amazonian culture. It is a source of pride for the population and for everyone who contributes to the operation and preservation of this heritage, which now, in addition to being highlighted among the most beautiful in the world, is popularly elected the most beautiful in Brazil by an international survey”, informs the director .

Teatro Amazonas remains open for tourist visits from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9am to 5pm and, on Sundays, from 9am to 1pm. Entry costs R$ 20 (full price) and R$ 10 (half price). Amazonians do not pay, upon proof of place of birth.
