Internal committee is responsible for pre-selection of artists
Manaus (AM) – Manaus City Hall, through the Municipal Foundation for Culture, Tourism and Events (Manauscult), with the aim of reinforcing the legacy of valuing local culture and respect for diversity, began this week the pre-selection of local artists for the largest integrated arts festival in the North of the country, “#SouManaus – Passo a Paço 2023”.
The pre-selection is carried out by an internal commission composed of technicians from the culture and events department of Manauscult, through the criterion-referenced evaluation, which takes into account the objective and subjective criteria, in addition to being consistent with the experience and musical style. that the organization is preparing for each of the four stages.
The director-president of Manauscult, Osvaldo Cardoso, explains that, after the conclusion of this pre-selection process, he will submit the list to the Municipal Strategic Management Committee (CGEM) of Mayor David Almeida so that together they can define the names that will integrate the line -up official of the mega event.
“The determination of Mayor David Almeida is that the festival positions the capital on the route of the country’s tourist mega-events and that it values the talents of the land. For this, we are doing a serious and judicious work, to contemplate the greatest possible number of local artists. And the great differential of this edition is that we are seeking to expand the visibility of these talents beyond their gender, through featuring, better known as ‘feat’, with the national attractions that will make up the line-up”,
explained Osvaldo Cardoso.
The curatorship begins with the evaluation of the portfolios, which contain newspaper clippings proving the trajectory, social networks and digital platforms with numbers of monthly listeners, views and shares. The musical styles are the most varied, including brega, forró, sertanejo, christian, pop, rock, electronic, hip-hop, indie rock, funk, rap, pagode, samba and other rhythms.
