There was a reduction among those who declare themselves white. In 2021, they were 46.3% of Brazilians. In 2022, the percentage dropped to 42.8%, a reduction of 3.5 percentage points. According to the IBGE, the Northeast registers the biggest increase in the participation of black people, from 8.7% to 13.4%. In the South there was the greatest increase in the proportion of brown people, from 16.7% to 20.9%.
